Swindon

Good post.

I believe any of our ex managers have been called out before, even Lyall.

Ron Greenwood and the board at the time we’re hated by many.

As far as today's game goes they desperately needed to get something and we didn't. Some of the criticism is over the top. Everton lost 3-1 to Bournemouth while Arsenal almost lost a 3 goal lead against Watford.

Moyes haven't done a good job or a bad job. He was brought in to keep us up and he has done that. I'm not his biggest fan but I'm also fed up with changing mangers every 18 months. I'm not comparing Moyes with John Lyall in anyway but the fact is if social media was around in the 70s then Lyall would have been sacked in 1978 when we got relegated.

I never get the bollocks about our owners wanting us to be mediocre or even get relegated. That makes no sense. The more successful we are the more money comes into the club. They benefit from us being successful.

We have spent a lot of money on players over the past couple of seasons. Anderson, Haller, Diop, Yarmolenko, Fabianski, Balbuena, Fornals, Ajeti, Bowen & Soucek comes to about 190 million.

The owners have made mistakes with the Stadium and the Managers but I have no issue with the money we have spent on players.

The detractors on here are being rather harsh. No, we didn't play great but the starting 11 have, generally, played out of their skins in the past half a dozen games and got us over the line.

Just maybe after such a Herculean effort in those games, coming thick and fast they were knackered. And who could blame them?

Moyes delivered on what he was hired for and now it's time to get behind him and see what he can do with a full season and a couple of transfer windows.

Relegation was 100% being spoke about towards the end of Pellegrini. We were in dire form, started off by the worst player in any position I have ever seen at West Ham letting in goals like that was his only job. The fact he stuck by him was the thing that got him the bullet in the end.

It's pretty fucking pointless arguing the toss over how they both performed as managers over the season, because it's not a fair assessment. One come in and had to fire fight from the off, and we did end up looking good from the Chelsea game onwards, today aside.

He's far from my choice as a manager, but he's here now, we need to get behind him from the off next season. Bowen and Soucek have give us a bit of life and hope, and Johnson has solved our right back problems moving forward. Small mercies and all that.

He delivered promotion at the first attempt.

Even his most haters can’t deny him that.

I enjoyed the play off final, how about you?

Both Moyes & Pellegrini ended up with very similar records from their respective half a season.
We survived by beating the awful teams below us and beating Chelsea twice.

No-one has covered themselves in glory.

But we all know where the REAL problem is. If you want the owners out:
DO NOT RENEW
DONT GO TO GAMES
DONT BUY SHIRTS

Otherwise you’re part of the problem.

wtf did Allardyce deliver apart from a streaky promotion and prehistoric football. Yes, the man was a cunt.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
The SPIVS ren't interested in WHUFC as a sporting entity; and it's probably not just about the money. It's more to do with the status of them owning a club that is part of the biggest sporting brand in the world, and all they care about is maintaining that.

They've made it clear that they don't give a flying fuck about cup competitions by allowing several managers to make no effort whatsoever in them. Particularly that odious cunt Allardyce, and more recently the pathetic old git Pellegrini.

So as long as these turds in clothes own the club we are doomed to season after season of flirting with relegation or lower mid-table anonymity.

One last point though. They've tried pushing up to the next level by hiring a big name manger (Pellegrini) and allowing him to spend big. The trouble is though he fucked up by wasting tens of millions on duds. They should never have invested in an old bloke who was clearly past his sell by date (Which some of us pointed out when he was hired)

So what our problems stem from is that while Sullivan and Gold know how to make money for themselves they know absolutely sod all about football, and for that reason alone they need to go.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
My recollection of the Pellegrini regime prior to his sacking was that relegation was being spoken of as a possibility especially as we were in a run of relegation form.

Indeed if nobody had spoken or thought of relegation as a possibility it is likely that Pellegrini might have been kept on until it was too late to turn things around.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
As I said yesterday, there’s never a guarantee that any other manager will be any better. Just because they are successful at another club there is no guarantee when they turn up at West Ham.

All our managers have been called cunts on here even the ones that delivered, Pardew, Allardyce?

FGU - Well I hope you're right and next season is better.

Pellegrini should definitely have got sacked.. Hopefully I'll be hearing I told you so's next season.

But as others have said with those three at the helm where always just one step away from our next disaster.

"he was employed to keep us up."

Your words alone. Under Pellegrini we were under a dreadful run, exacerbated by his goalkeeper decisions. But relegation? Wasn't really mentioned at that stage. Half the season to go.

"Staying up" only became a real concern after Moyes' disastrous start. During which he cemented his place as West Ham's worst-ever manager in terms of points.

He eventually "saved us" from a position he himself helped put us in. Whoopee.

Whatever happened to Pellegrini, it happened.

It needed undoing, somehow. Of course, it would have been nice if Pellegrini could have undone it himself, but he didn't, and no-one really knows whether he could ever have undone it.

Moyes did undo its effects. That is known.

I see where you’re coming from but I do think Moyes and Nolan deserve credit for stopping the rot under Pellegrini and getting some kind of team spirit going. I can’t argue with your stats but I feel that Moyes got them fitter and more motivated and there were some moments after the return where we actually looked pretty solid, well organisms and good to watch.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
Final post of the season from me not that anyone will give a toss. Most people on here are objective. A minority are embarrassing. To ask about a relegation thread today for next season is baffling. If we sign more players like Bowen and Soucek and off load the shite how can we not be more positive. I just don’t get some of you. 1964 I understand your view as we are West Ham and nothing will ever change but that is currently our place in the football ladder. However I do believe Moyes will push us up the table if he is backed. That is the big if. Good break to you all. Let’s hope for a good window.
